Simply the Best Heating & Cooling wants you to have the best 4th of July ever this year for America’s 240th birthday! We’ve gathered a list of some great events going on around the greater Phoenix area this year both on the 4th and over the 4th weekend.

Light Up The Sky, July 1, Maryvale
For well over three decades now, Light Up the Sky has been the west-side’s premiere family-oriented, alcohol-free (Read: free from alcohol. Not free alcohol lol.) fireworks display and celebratory event. The celebrations take place at Maryvale Baseball Park from 6:30-9:30 PM, but you’ll want to arrive early to snag a choice viewing position. Also arriving early will give you and the family some time to walk around and participate in the activities! Everything from activities and games for the kids on the baseball diamond to an inflatable fun zone! (Sorry adults, again for the kids.) As has been the case since the 80’s, Light Up the Sky is free admission!

Scottsdale Independence Day Celebration, July 2, Scottsdale
The Scottsdale Independence Day Celebration is a huge celebration with something for everyone in the family, from a mechanical bull and obstacle courses, huge slides, trampoline wall, to a toddler town — and that’s not even scratching the surface. In fact it’s such a large event that there’s a printable map at the link to the event below.
Admission ranges from $6 for Scottsdale residents, ($12 general admission, everyone else), to $35 for VIP pass, to a family 4-pack w/VIP tickets for $130. 3 PM – 9:30 PM

Scottsdale Independence Day Celebration
Salute From The Shores: Lake Pleasant Fireworks Show, July 3rd, Peoria
Want to get out of town for a bit and do some relaxing on the lake? We think that’s a great idea, too! Pleasant Harbor is hosting the Salute from the Shores: Lake Pleasant Fireworks Show on the 3rd. Featuring bounce houses, water slides, bungee trampolines, DJ’s and food vendors. Bonus: you can bring your own coolers and lawn chairs! Event starts at 5 PM and spans a nice 6 hours to 11 PM.
Admission is $15 per vehicle.

Westgate Firework Fest, July 3
The Westgate Entertainment District is celebrating this 4th of July with two music stages, over 20 restaurants participating in food vending, and fun activities for the whole family. Make sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets and take up a spot in Fountain Park or Water Dace Plaza. Get in the celebrating mood with free parking and admission, and then let the kids cool off with the splash pad and the adults with the beer garden. Festivities start at 5 PM and run through 9 PM, ending with a spectacular fireworks show!

Anthem’s Independence Day Celebration, July 3, Anthem
Those of you up in Anthem need not make the long trek across town to attend a happening event over the weekend. Grab your lawn chairs and some blankets, a spot in the park to be near all the activities and the fireworks at night. The kids can have a blast on the waterslides, rides and games, with a $15 unlimited ride wristband. There will be food vendors so you can grab dinner in the evening after the kids are done playing. Party starts at 6 PM and runs until 10 PM with admission and parking free.

Cave Creek Third Of July Fireworks Extravaganza, July 3, Cave Creek
Cave Creek is throwing a bash for America that is sponsored by three of the best local restaurants–Harold’s, Roadhouse, and The Horny Toad, which is really special because admission is free to each restaurant and the food is served on a first-come, first–served basis. There is also live music and games for the kids as well as food for them, too. Fireworks top off the evening and are set off from the hill directly behind Harold’s. Doors open at 5 PM.

Fourth Of Zooly, July 4, Phoenix
One of the more unique experiences in the Valley, the Fourth of “Zooly” is a 4th of July celebration that takes place at the zoo! Enjoy the zoo while also enjoying a catered BBQ dinner. Carousel rides are free for plenty of photo opportunities along with the bounce and special guest animal appearances. Then before the fireworks get started, head to the back of the zoo to watch them sent up over Tempe Town Lake. Party starts at 7 and goes until 10.

Tempe Town Lake Festival, July 4
Tempe Town Lake puts on a great show every year and this year is no exception. Live music will be featured prominently as will all the various food vendors sure to sent your appetite soaring! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and grab a spot on the grass to watch the fireworks go up over the lake right off of the Mill Avenue Bridge after a night of live music, food, activities for the kids, and a flyover. The gates open at 5 PM and the show goes until after 11 PM.
$5 – General admission, $30-$60 – VIP, Children 12 and younger, as well as active military (With valid ID) are free.

Mesa’s Arizona Celebration of Freedom, July 4, Mesa
Live music, waterslides and fireworks – and a whole lot more – are free for you and your family! Starting at 6 PM, bring everyone down to the Amphitheatre and soak up the live music and the various presentations and acts.
