At Simply the Best Heating & Cooling, we make it a priority to save you money when it comes to your home cooling and heating system. Because of that goal, we’ve put together a few different packages to help get your older system running the way you want it to.
Not everyone has the money or desire to install a new AC unit when something goes wrong and companies that push you towards that option aren’t looking out for your best interest.
Any heating or cooling system can be repaired, the biggest thing to consider is cost.
HVAC System Revitalization Package
Introducing our HVAC System Revitalization Package. This package is designed for older systems that need a little help. If you’ve been having problems with your current system but it isn’t old enough for a full replacement yet, consider what this package has to offer.
We designed it based on common failings of HVAC systems and it includes the following:
- Blower capacitor for heating – This provides a steady supply of electricity to the furnace fan motors
- Dual capacitor for cooling (Compressor & Condenser Fan Motor) – This provides a steady electrical current to the AC fans
- Contactor – This keeps the power flowing to your AC’s most important parts
- Compressor Start Assist – This helps your AC compressor start up to 10 times faster
Revitalize your HVAC system with our comprehensive package. Give us a call today to learn if this package is right for you and for up to date pricing.
What Is A Capacitor?
Capacitors are an essential part of your HVAC system. One of the most common causes of HVAC breakdowns is a failed capacitor. But what is a capacitor and what does it do?
What is a capacitor on an HVAC system?
- Capacitors store up electricity, similar to a rechargeable battery, so that they can supply a small burst of energy to the motor.
The difference between start vs. run capacitors
- A start capacitor provides the extra voltage needed to get the compressor or motor started. A run capacitor provides energy to keep them running.
Why do capacitors go bad?
Capacitors are sensitive to heat. Overheating generally comes from the sun, especially on rooftop units, or by electrical overheating. Power surges can also cause a capacitor to fail. Finally, age is a large cause of capacitors failing.
Average lifespan of an HVAC capacitor?
- Capacitors have a limited lifespan but a number of factors can cause them to wear out quicker. If your air conditioner cycles more rapidly than average, your capacitor is undersized, or it’s built from problematic parts, the estimated lifespan can be greatly reduced.
